(How to recognize innovators in your organization)
There is no valid measurement tool that can measure innovative capacity and thereby explicitly takes into account the relationship between the practice, education and the additional environmental factors. This instrument, the ICB (Innovation Competencies Barometer) will be developed in the research program FINCODA (Framework for Innovation Competencies Development and Assessment). Based on indicators we found in literature, we have developed a checklist that managers can use by themselves to obtain more insight into the innovative potential of their employees. The instrument is designed on an especially development-oriented way. For example, the employee can fill in the checklist by him- or herself and the manager fill in the checklist about the employee. By engaging in conversation about the scores, both, the manager and the employee, works focused on the strengthening of innovative behavior.
